Metal Mixology

Once upon a time the thought of mixing metals was considered an Interiors faux pas! While some still choose to follow the design rules often this ends up with a space looking a little flat and boring. More and more we are challenging the rules and allowing ourselves to be more creative and instinctive with our homes. I am loving the look of combining metal elements in the home, here are some beautiful interiors which master the art of metal mixology

Combining all the different types of metal elements takes a little practise and consideration as it is still important to create an overall sense of balance within your interior space.  You can take the subtle approach by adding a sideboard with brass detailed handles teamed with a delicate silver framed mirror. Or for high drama and maximum impact have an amazing large brass pendant and chrome dining chairs softened with a beautiful wooden dining table and luscious velvet upholstered chairs? Either way being bold or taking the subtle approach combining metals is a sure way to add an element of richness to your space.

All of these looks are beautifully curated combing different metal elements not to mention different styles and periods!  I just love the look of warm and cool metals layered with other elements like woollen rugs, velvet cushions or beautiful knitted throws. Mix it up and have some fun!
